Verify Privilege Vault Migration Tool

Verify Privilege Vault offers a migration utility for importing secrets from other applications. Currently, the migration tool supports to following applications:

• KeePass (version 1 and 2)
• Password Corral
• Password Safe
• Passwords MAX

This is done with another exportation tool that creates a single XML file. Please contact IBM Security Support for details.

Migrating From KeePass to Verify Privilege Vault

To migrate from KeePass to Verify Privilege Vault via the migration tool, follow the steps below:

1. Download the Migration Tool:
   The Secret Server Migration Tool supports importing secrets from KeePass (version 1 and 2). You will need to download this tool.

2. Export Secrets from KeePass:
   Use KeePass to export your secrets into a single XML file. This file will be used for the import process into Secret Server.

3. Prepare for Import:
   Ensure your XML file is correctly formatted. If you are exporting from KeePass, the format should be compatible with Secret Server's import requirements.

4. Import Secrets into Verify Privilege Vault:

   1. Navigate to Admin > Export / Import in Secret Server.

   2. Click the Import button to access the import page.

   3. Select XML as the import type.

   4. Upload the XML file you exported from KeePass.

   5. You can choose to inherit folder permissions and change remote passwords if needed.

5. Verify Import:

   After importing, verify that the secrets have been correctly imported into Secret Server.
